Job summary

UNC Health Care is seeking a Pharmacy Technician for the inpatient operations unit in Chapel Hill, NC. The role supports pharmacists by reviewing, compounding, and dispensing medications under supervision.

Weekend work and a per diem schedule are expected; this is a State position with UNC Health benefits. Responsibilities include handling sterile and non-sterile preparations, managing inventory and regulatory documentation, and supporting training and process improvements within the pharmacy

Qualifications

• Prior pharmacy technician experience is preferred.
• Completion of a pharmacy technician training program is preferred.
• Active registration with the NC Board of Pharmacy is required unless enrolled in a PharmD program.

Responsibilities

• Review, compound, and dispense medications under pharmacist supervision.
• Deliver and manage medication exchanges and returns in patient areas.
• Document pharmaceutical activities and patient billing with accuracy.
