Job summary

MercyOne Clinton Medical Center is hiring an Inpatient Pharmacy Tech Trainee to learn assisting Clinical Pharmacists with medication preparation, distribution, and inventory control. Trainees operate under the supervision of a registered pharmacist and perform duties that support patient care across neonatal to geriatric populations.

Responsibilities include batch and dose preparation, stock management, Pyxis restocking, and accurate documentation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• National Pharmacy Technician Certification required.
• Must be registered with the State of Iowa Board of Pharmacy within 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Assist Pharmacist with filling orders, kits, trays, carts, and stock requisitions.
• Prepare intravenous admixtures and sterile preparations using aseptic technique.
• Restock medications and IV dispensing areas and manage inventory levels.
• Triages calls professionally and supports distribution and delivery to patient areas.
• Document charges, credits, and return medications to stock.
