Job summary

MercyOne Dubuque is seeking a Retail Pharmacy Tech Trainee. Under supervision of a pharmacist, you will assist in providing pharmaceutical care to patients from newborns to geriatrics, with a focus on accurate math calculations and customer service.

The role reports to the Lead Pharmacist or Retail Pharmacy Supervisor at West Campus, with rotating hours and a requirement to complete national certification within 1 year.

Qualifications

• Must be 17 years of age or older and eligible to sit for the national technician certification exam within 1 year of hire.
• Registration with Iowa Board of Pharmacy prior to start of employment.
• Pass the test for and maintain national technician certification as outlined by the Iowa Board of Pharmacy within 1 year of employment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the provision of pharmaceutical care to patients under supervision.
• Perform math calculations with accuracy and efficiency.
• Use hospital pharmacy information systems and related programs.
