Job summary

MercyOne North Iowa is seeking a Pharmacy Technician Trainee to support medication orders and assist in pharmacy operations. The role includes learning sterile and non-sterile compounding, ensuring compliance with USP 795/797, and working under the guidance of a Registered Pharmacist or licensed technician.

Applicants must be currently in high school or hold a GED, and must register with the State of Iowa as a pharmacy technician on hire.

Qualifications

• Basic aptitude for 8th grade math and good written and verbal communication.
• ASHP didactic learning modules to complete as assigned.
• Complete experiential learning activities as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Prepares, packages, and distributes medication orders under supervision.
• Maintains adequate stock of medications and supplies.
• Follows policies to ensure patient care quality and safety.
• Participates in department huddles and teamwork.
