Job summary

The Pharmacy Technician – Inpatient, Nights at Cleveland Clinic Euclid Hospital provides overnight coverage to ensure safe, accurate preparation and distribution of medications for hospitalized patients. You will work with a collaborative inpatient pharmacy team in a close-knit community setting.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma/GED, active CPhT and OBOP registration; 6 months hospital experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) through the PTCB or NHA at hire.
• Active registration with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy as CPT, RPT, or Pharmacy Technician Trainee.
• Ability to perform algebraic calculations for extemporaneous compounds.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Follow established policies and procedures to support essential pharmacy department operations.
• Perform packaging, preparation and distribution of medications, inventory control and pharmacy record maintenance.
• Pursue completion of the Cleveland Clinic School of Pharmacy Technology program within the first 12 months of employment.
• Prepare medications (selection, labeling, repackaging and non-sterile compounding).
• Deliver medications to the appropriate storage locations.
• Maintain accurate inventories of medications and supplies.
• Maintain a safe and clean work area by following procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Document regulatory requirements such as temperature logs, scheduled activities and training accurately and timely.
• Appropriately use information systems, technology, and automation to complete tasks.
• Maintain good standing in the Cleveland Clinic School of Pharmacy Technology program per the student handbook.
