Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health in Boston is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support unit dose distribution, restock ADSs, and assist with sterile and non-sterile preparations in compliance with DEA and Massachusetts regulations.

You will communicate with pharmacists and nurses to ensure timely preparation and delivery of medications, maintain records for IV admixtures, QA processes, and participate in mentoring students and technicians.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Massachusetts Pharmacy Technician Certification or Certificate 2 EXCPT.
• Stay in good standing with MA Board of Registration in Pharmacy (fees maintained).
• 1–3 years related work experience required.
• Experience with computer systems and MS Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Restocks automated dispensing machines (ADSs) and floor stock medications using Epic workflows.
• Delivers all medications in compliance with DEA, DPH & State Board regulations.
• Prepares and delivers IV medications per USP 797 & USP 800; maintains related records.
• Compounds non-sterile products and repackages bulk supplies per USP 795 & USP 800.
• Checks for expired medications and disposes per regulations (RCRA/OSHA/NIOSH).
• Participates in mentoring students and pharmacy technicians; supports training.
• Prepares specialized sterile and/or non-sterile products including TPNs, neonatal and chemotherapy meds per USP standards.
• Suggests workflow improvements and collaborates with Lead technicians to implement changes.
• Maintains staffing in two or more areas of the pharmacy.
