Job summary

Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, MA is seeking a part-time Pharmacy Technician to support unit-dose distribution and sterile/non-sterile preparations. You will work with pharmacists and nursing staff to ensure timely medication preparation and delivery, including IV admixtures according to USP standards.

The role requires MA Pharmacy Technician certification, MA Board registration, and 1–3 years of related experience.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Pharmacy Technician (Massachusetts) – MA Board & PTCB or EXCPT certification.
• Maintain MA Board registration and fees in good standing.
• 1–3 years related work experience required.
• Experience with computer systems and MS Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Restocks ADSs and floor stock meds; follows Epic workflows.
• Delivers medications in compliance with regulations.
• Prepares and delivers IV meds per USP 797/800 standards.
• Compounds non-sterile products and repackages meds per USP standards.
• Checks for expired medications and disposes per regulations.
• Mentors students and technicians; participates in training.
• Prepares specialized sterile/non-sterile products including TPNs.
• Suggests workflow improvements with lead technicians.
• Maintains staffing in two or more pharmacy areas.
