Job summary

MercyOne Medical Group – Northeast Iowa is hiring an Inpatient Pharmacy Tech I to join our medication distribution team. You will assist under the supervision of the pharmacist, contributing to the day-to-day operations of the hospital pharmacy and ensuring timely delivery of medications to patient care areas.

Qualifications

• Pharmacy Certified Technician required within 12 months from registration.
• Registered with Iowa Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician Trainee prior to starting employment.
• Or as a Pharmacy Intern registered with the State of Iowa at time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Identify, locate and pull appropriate quantity of medication.
• Prepare medication for dispensing.
• Package medication orders for delivery.
• Deliver prescription orders to patients or patient care area under supervision.
• Gathers information required to prepare prescriptions and/or other pharmacy functions.
• Performs computer data entry and print functions.
• Enters accurate and complete data into computer system.
• Verifies and maintains up-to-date information.
