Job summary

MercyOne is seeking an Inpatient Pharmacy Tech I to assist in day-to-day pharmacy operations under pharmacist supervision. The role involves preparing and distributing medications, data entry, and ensuring accurate prescription processing within MercyOne Health System.

The position runs on an evening schedule (7 on/7 off; 12:00 PM - 10:00 PM) and emphasizes adherence to mission and values while supporting patient care across multiple MercyOne facilities.

Qualifications

• Pharmacy Certified Technician required within 12 months from registration with the Board of Pharmacy.
• Registered with Iowa Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician Trainee prior to starting employment OR as a Pharmacy Intern.
• Registered with the State of Iowa at time of hire.

As an Inpatient Pharmacy Tech I at MercyOne, you will be under the supervision of the pharmacist, assisting in the day-to-day operations of the pharmacy, including preparation and distribution of medications to patients and patient care areas. Adheres to MercyOne's performance expectations and performs all defined services and other related duties in accordance with the mission, vision and values of MercyOne

Schedule: 7 on/7 off; Evenings 12:00 PM - 10:00 PM

General Requirements

• Use medication orders to identify, locate and pull appropriate quantity of medication needed.
• Prepares medication for dispensing.
• Packages medication order for delivery.
• Delivers prescription orders to patients or patient care area under the direction of the Performs computer data entry and print functions.
• Gathers information required to prepare prescriptions and/or other pharmacy functions.
• Enters accurate and complete data into computer system.
• Verifies and maintains up-to-date information.

Education

• Pharmacy Certified Technician required within 12 months from registration with the Board of Pharmacy.
• Registered with Iowa Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician Trainee prior to starting employment OR as a Pharmacy Intern
• Registered with the State of Iowa at time of hire
