Job summary

Foundation Health Partners in Alaska is seeking a Pharmacy Technician Educator – Inpatient Pharmacy to blend hands-on dispensing with teaching, mentorship, and system-wide impact. You will shape the next generation of technicians, strengthen inpatient operations and grow leadership and educator skills within a collaborative hospital team.

The role requires Alaska Pharmacy Technician License and Certification, 3+ years of experience, and a commitment to professional growth and education.

Qualifications

• Requires pharmacy technician licensure in the state of practice.
• Pharmacy technician certification required.
• Must demonstrate three (3) or more years of experience performing in a pharmacy technician role.
• Excellent presentation, facilitation and computer technology skills, strong organization and communication skills and the ability to take initiative, solve problems and improve processes.
• Four (4) or more years in a position with primary responsibility for design and delivery of learning programs for adult learners.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Education. Previous leadership experience. Additional related education and/or experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensures seamless orientation of new and/or transferring pharmacy staff with oversight and influence of the orientation experience.
• Develops and implements strategic workforce learning and development services to support workforce goals, quality initiatives and pharmacy practice.
• Evaluates staff competency in coordination with pharmacy leadership; provides timely feedback.
• Acts as a resource for automated dispensing systems and may train staff, physicians, nursing staff and students.
• Leads and participates on assigned committees and teams; engages in shared leadership.
• Models clinical practice and establishes visibility and credibility in the team.
• Performs routine duties in packaging, distribution and record keeping of pharmaceutical supplies.
• Follows established policies, procedures and regulatory requirements; delivers excellent service.
