Job summary

UMass Memorial Health seeks a Pharmacy Technician to support the pharmacist in nonsterile compounding and medication distribution. You will assist in loading medications into automated dispensing machines and preparing various medication forms.

Responsibilities include accurate documentation, scanning and entering daily orders, and triaging pharmacy calls. A Massachusetts license and national certification are required, with a focus on reliability and teamwork in a busy hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Required: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current license with the Massachusetts Board of Pharmacy.
• Certified by one of the national governing bodies such as Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or the National Healthcareer Association ExCPT.

Responsibilities

• Under the supervision of a pharmacist, performs nonsterile compounding and loads medications into automated dispensing machines (ADMs).
• Packages and prepares all forms of medications and compounds.
• Maintains required documentation per regulatory and hospital requirements.
• Triages pharmacy phone calls and supports training of new technicians.
• Receives daily orders and ensures items are scanned and entered into the hospital system.
