Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Worcester, MA is hiring a Pharmacy Technician to support nonsterile compounding, medication delivery and loading of medications into automated dispensing machines. You will assist in packaging, documentation and all aspects of drug distribution in a busy hospital pharmacy.

Under the supervision of a pharmacist, you will handle inventory management, support training for technicians, triage pharmacy calls and help maintain accurate records and compliant operations across

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current license with the Massachusetts Board of Pharmacy.
• Certified by PTCB or ExCPT.

Responsibilities

• Complies with state and federal standards for compounding medications.
• Proficient with pharmacy technology and equipment.
• Troubleshoot minor technical problems and escalate as needed.
• Prepares and packages all forms of medications and compounds.
• Repackage medications into unit-of-use containers; ensure items are scannable.
• Maintain required documentation per regulatory and hospital requirements.
• Conduct medication room inspections in assigned areas; regulatory compliance.
• Remove outdated medications and provide follow-up actions.
• Assemble drugs from warehouse locations using inventory system.
• Triage pharmacy phone calls.
• Support training for new technicians.
• Maintain a clean work area.
• Receive daily orders and enter into the hospital system.
• Maintain accurate in-date inventory.
• Identify problems and assist in process improvements.
