Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is hiring for an outpatient pharmacy support role. You will assist with prescription intake and dispensing, ensure accurate documentation in patient records, and help manage daily operations in a busy pharmacy setting.

Responsibilities include processing prescriptions, maintaining inventory, and coordinating with providers and patients to resolve issues, while contributing to quality improvement and ensuring patient safety and service excellence.

• Position requires proficiency in math and knowledge and ability to use a computer.
• Must be able to follow oral and written instructions with accuracy, efficiency, and dependability.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations within the Outpatient Pharmacy.
• Assist in prescription intake and delivery and document on patient records.
• Respond to provider inquiries about discharges and document appropriately.
• Process prescriptions through the pharmacy computer system.
• Maintain inventory with daily cycle counts and remove outdated stock.
• Interact with providers and patients to clarify orders and inform about issues.
• Enter new prescriptions and refills; resolve adjudication issues with insurance.
• Support ongoing quality improvement initiatives and problem-solving efforts.
