Job summary

Join Cleveland Clinic Akron General Hospital for a Pharmacy Technician Apprentice - Inpatient role in Akron. You will train under a pharmacist, packaging, preparing and distributing medications, manage inventory and maintain records.

After 12 months, completion of the Cleveland Clinic School of Pharmacy Technology Program will be awarded. The program runs 18 weeks from 7:00am to 3:30pm, Monday through Friday, with no weekends or holidays.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Completion of the Cleveland Clinic School of Pharmacy Technology program within 12 months of hire.
• Registration as a Pharmacy Technician Trainee with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy.
• Registration as a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy within 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Prepare medications (selection, labeling, repackaging, non-sterile compounding and sterile compounding).
• Deliver medications to appropriate storage locations.
• Maintain accurate and appropriate inventories of medications and supplies.
• Maintain a safe and clean work area by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.
• Document regulatory requirements such as temperature logs, scheduled activities, and training in an accurate and timely manner.
• Attend and actively participate in team huddles and meetings.
• Use information systems, technology and automation to complete assigned tasks.
• Maintain good standing in the Cleveland Clinic School of Pharmacy Technology Program per the student handbook.
