Job summary

The Inpatient Pharmacy Supervisor at the Atlanta VA Medical Center is a licensed pharmacist who maintains operational control of the inpatient pharmacy during business hours and directs pharmacy operations to deliver high-quality pharmaceutical care to all patients.

The position requires ACPE-accredited degree, active license, and eligibility for GS-13 level; duties include regulatory compliance, staff development, drug control, and overseeing IV admixture, unit-dose, and distribution systems.

Qualifications

• Graduate of ACPE-accredited College or School of Pharmacy with BS Pharmacy or PharmD.
• Foreign graduates must have FPGEC certification including FPGEE and TOEFL iBT.
• Full, current and unrestricted pharmacist license in the U.S. (state/DC/territory).
• Grandfathering provision may apply for current VA employees in this occupation.
• GS-13 requires 1 year of experience at the GS-12 level or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provide pharmaceutical care and services across the healthcare system.
• Maintain active Pharmacy Service license.
• Ensure compliance with state, federal, and VA guidelines and sound pharmaceutical judgment.
• Manage personnel and support EE0 initiatives and staff development.
• Promote pharmacoeconomic and quality improvement efforts in pharmacy.
