Job summary

The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center's Pharmacy Division seeks a Pharmacist supervisor to lead inpatient medication distribution, ensure safety and compliance, and mentor staff.

The ideal candidate holds a Pharm.D. or B.S. in Pharmacy with at least two years of Pharmacist experience, and demonstrates strong leadership in a dynamic healthcare setting. Onsite work with evening hours and rotating weekends is required; attractive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Two years of Pharmacist or Clinical Pharmacist experience.
• License: Texas State Board of Pharmacy Pharmacist license within 90 days of job entry.
• ACLS/BLS certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise staff to ensure safe medication preparation and distribution, including sterile and non-sterile compounding.
• Assist with interviewing, onboarding, and training of new staff members.
• Ensure appropriate staffing levels through effective scheduling practices.
• Complete employee performance evaluations and personnel documentation in a timely manner.
• Foster and maintain a professional, collaborative work environment.
• Conduct quarterly one-on-one meetings with direct reports.
• Maintain competency in core pharmaceutical services including order verification and drug information resources.
