Job summary

UW Health is seeking a Pharmacist – Inpatient Central Pharmacy to oversee medication distribution, work with central automation, and ensure compliance with USP 797 sterile compounding requirements at University Hospital in Madison, WI.

This 100% FTE overnight shift (9:00 pm–7:00 am), seven days on and seven days off, offers a collaborative environment with technicians and an emphasis on patient safety, quality improvement, and professional growth.

Qualifications

• Pharmacy degree (PharmD) or PharmD is required.
• ASHP accredited residency training preferred.
• 1 year of clinical patient care and orders management experience required.
• 3 years of institutional hospital experience or completion of residency preferred.
• Wisconsin pharmacist license within 90 days required.
• BLS within 90 days required.
• Residency/certification programs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee medication distribution processes in the central pharmacy.
• Collaborate with central automation and technology systems.
• Ensure compliance with USP Chapter 797 sterile compounding requirements.
• Supervise technicians and provide guidance for patient care and safety.
• Participate in quality improvement, assurance and medication distribution compliance.
