Job summary

Avera Sacred Heart Hospital is seeking a Pharmacist to ensure safe, effective, and economical use of medications for patients of all ages. You will prepare and dispense prescriptions, advise clinicians on therapies, monitor regimens, and educate patients on drug use.

The Pharmacist will oversee pharmacy staff, ensure policy compliance, mentor students and interns, and participate in education, research, and committee work as needed within a respected healthcare system.

Qualifications

• Licensed pharmacist in the practicing state
• Board certification preferred in Pharmacy Specialties (BPS)
• Doctorate degree may be preferred for advanced roles

Responsibilities

• Prepares and dispenses medications
• Counsels patients on proper usage and potential adverse effects
• Monitors patient therapy and reviews drug interactions
• Coordinates with pharmacists, residents, interns and staff for safe delivery of medications
