Job summary

Effinghamschools is seeking a Patient Care Tech (PCT) to assist nursing staff in providing basic, non-licensed bedside care for inpatients, swing-bed and hospice patients, under RN/LPN supervision. Primary duties include assisting with hygiene, feeding, turning, vital signs, and routine documentation in compliance with policies.

You will contribute to patient safety, participate in care plans, help with discharge readiness, restock supplies, and maintain a clean, organized unit.

Qualifications

• High School or equivalent; PCT certification or one clinical nursing semester.
• Graduate of PCT, Nursing Assistant, EMT, CMA, MOA, or U.S. Military Medic program.
• Enrolled in nursing school with one full clinical semester completed; BLS/CPR may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic, non-licensed bedside care under RN/LPN supervision.
• Assist with hygiene, vital signs, feeding, turning, and documentation as needed.
• Support infection control, safety, and orderly room turnover with the nursing team.
• Assist with discharge readiness and restock supplies as directed.
