Job summary

Surgery Partners is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to assist with patient care on the Inpatient Unit. The PCT handles vital signs, safe patient transport, and documentation of services, while serving as an observer for high-need patients to maximize safety.

Basic reception and clerical duties may be performed to support the nursing team. Minimum qualifications include current Certified Nursing Assistant or Medical Assistant certification and at least two years of patient care experience

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant or Medical Assistant certification required.
• Minimum of two years patient care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Observes and reports patient's status and needs.
• Answers call lights and attends to/reports patient needs.
• Obtains specimens and transport to lab if necessary.
• Transfers, moves, repositions, and assists with ambulating patients.
• Monitors and records patient’s vital signs.
• Assists physicians and nurses during medical examination and treatment of the patient.
• Makes occupied and unoccupied beds.
• Maintains current knowledge and certification requirements.
• Attends all required Safety Training programs and can describe responsibilities related to safety.
• Respects and regards the dignity of all patients, families, visitors and fellow employees.
