Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a patient care assistant to provide direct care, document vital signs, and support the RN in the care of acutely ill patients. The role emphasizes patient safety, privacy, and efficient unit coordination in a hospital setting.

The incumbent works under the supervision of the Registered Nurse and is involved in admissions, discharges, and transfers while maintaining HIPAA guidelines and hospital policies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to read, write and follow oral and written instructions; basic mathematics.
• Maintain HIPAA/privacy compliance and follow hospital policies.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and assist with activities of daily living.
• Document vital signs, I/O, and patient conditions accurately in the electronic medical record.
• Support RN in care of acutely ill patients and participate in unit activities such as admissions, discharges and transfers.
• Contribute to quality initiatives and maintain a clean, safe environment on the unit.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
