Job summary

Yale New Haven Health System is seeking an Advance Practice Nurse Inpatient Oncology at Yale New Haven Hospital in New Haven, CT. The role supports rapid assessment and management of oncology patients on a 12-hour AM-PM shift, with a 40-hour schedule, utilizing EPIC for documentation.

Graduate NP or PA with CT licensure; ACLS/BLS; DEA as required. Collaborative practice with physicians, ongoing education, and commitment to patient-centered care are essential.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or an accredited Physician Assistant Program.
• Active PA Certification by NCCPA and Connecticut PA license; ACLS/BLS as required; DEA license where indicated.
• PALS/NRP as applicable for position profile.
• Experience as NP/PA in the specialty is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assess, triage, and manage patient needs as part of an interdisciplinary team in inpatient, ambulatory, or outpatient settings.
• Educate patients and families on care, discharge plans, and available resources; provide psychosocial support.
• Ensure proper documentation in compliance with hospital and regulatory requirements.
• Demonstrate professionalism and uphold patient care standards; ensure regulatory compliance.
• Mentor staff and support professional development; engage in quality improvement activities as applicable.
