Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or an accredited Physician Assistant Program.
• Prefer clinical working experience as a NP/PA within the given specialty/service line, but none required.
• Active PA Certification by the NCCPA, Connecticut State PA License, ACLS/BLS Certification, when indicated; DEA License, when indicated for pediatric position profile; PALS/NRP as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Clinical Care: provides assessment, triage and therapeutic management as part of an interdisciplinary team in inpatient, ambulatory or outpatient settings; may perform procedures and prescribe within scope.
• Patient Education & Psychosocial Support: educate patients/families and provide psychosocial support.
• Information Management: ensure proper documentation in line with hospital and regulatory requirements and protect patient information.
• Quality Management: uphold professional standards, ethics and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations.
• Professional Development: engage in projects to advance competency and may mentor students or new staff.
