Job summary

University Hospitals seeks an Occupational Therapy Assistant to assist the Occupational Therapist in administering the rehabilitation program for patients with physical and/or psychosocial disabilities. The role focuses on administering selected activities/treatments to restore, reinforce and correct pathology to promote and maintain health.

Qualifications

• Must be able to assist with therapeutic activities and communicate clearly with patients and families.

Responsibilities

• Assists in administering treatments in the Occupational Therapy program.
• Educates patient and family/caregiver on applicable treatment and prevention.
• Participates in the discharge planning process.
• Performs other department activities such as documentation, billing, and support of department operations.
• Performs other duties as assigned and complies with policies and standards.
• Maintains PHI security per UH policies; completes annual PHI training and adheres to UH Code of Conduct.
