Job summary

Advocate Health Care is seeking an Occupational Therapy Assistant to implement therapy programs for inpatients and outpatients, collaborating with the OTR and healthcare team. The role includes patient and family instruction in home programs, ADL training, and maintaining accurate documentation.

You will participate in scheduling, treatment planning, and performance improvement activities, ensuring safe, effective care across settings. Requires licensure and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AOTA approved Occupational Therapy Assistant Program.
• Successful completion of two month supervised Level II fieldwork experience.
• Successful completion of certification process.
• Current IL/WI licensure or obtain IL licensure within 90 days of hire.
• Current CPR Certification; BLS for Healthcare Providers may be required.

Responsibilities

• Implement OT treatment programs for inpatients and outpatients as planned with OTR.
• Instruct patients and families in home programs and ADL skills.
• Document and maintain accurate patient records, EMR, and productivity logs.
• Confer with physicians and allied health professionals to plan OT services.
• Schedule patients and manage caseload to maximize efficiency and continuity of care.
• Assist in education and performance improvement activities within the department.
