Job summary

Northern Nevada Medical Group is seeking an inpatient Occupational Therapist for a per diem role in Sparks, NV. You will evaluate, plan, direct and administer OT modalities as prescribed by a licensed physician to restore function after injury or disability.

The therapist assists patients to reach maximum performance within their capabilities and will participate in comprehensive assessments across neonate to geriatric populations.

Qualifications

• Current state licensure for Occupational Therapy.
• Three (3) or more years of previous experience in all aspects of occupational therapy preferred.
• Current BCLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Observes and evaluates treatment effect. Recommends change to physician if needed.
• Performs an appropriate assessment on each patient, as related to the therapy requested and provided and reassessments, as per policy.
• Able to assess patient pain interfering with optimal level of function or participation in rehabilitation – makes appropriate physician contact for intervention.
• Formulates a teaching plan based on identified learning needs and evaluates effectiveness of learning; family is included in teaching as appropriate.
