Job summary

Sierra Medical Center, part of Northern Nevada Health System, is seeking a per diem Occupational Therapist for its NICU program. The role focuses on evaluation, planning, directing and administering OT modalities under physician prescriptions to restore function after injury or disease.

Responsibilities include supervising OT staff, assessing treatment impact, conducting patient assessments, and coordinating care across neonatal to geriatric populations to maximize function and independence.

Qualifications

• Current state licensure for Occupational Therapy.
• One (1) year of NICU experience.
• Three (3) or more years of previous experience in all aspects of occupational therapy preferred.
• Current BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Direct the occupational therapy department staff and oversee OT assistants and students.
• Assess and evaluate treatment progress; adjust plans as needed with physician input.
• Conduct patient assessments across neonate to geriatric populations and document outcomes.
• Identify pain or function barriers and coordinate with the physician for interventions.
