Job summary

Grady Health System is seeking a Nursing Support Technician (NST) to work under supervision of RNs and LPNs in inpatient settings. The NST provides patient care, assists with ADLs, and ensures a safe, supportive environment while using appropriate communication and documentation tools.

The role emphasizes patient advocacy, teaching, and performance improvement, with competency in basic and advance skills as determined by validation.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
• Must have one of: GA Nursing Assistant Certification; PCT program completion; or Basic Nursing Fundamentals course completion.

Responsibilities

• Provide age-appropriate, culturally sensitive patient care.
• Maintain a safe environment and assist with activities of daily living.
• Communicate effectively and document/collect information as guided by licensed staff.
• Perform delegated tasks/therapies and assist with basic and some advanced skills as competency allows.
• May cross-train to serve as patient safety monitor or unit clerk in inpatient settings.
