Job summary

Aurora Health Care in Milwaukee seeks an experienced Nurse Manager to coordinate resources and leadership for a busy hospital department. You will oversee staffing, supplies, and patient care systems to ensure safe, high-quality care and efficient operations.

You will lead governance activities, drive evidence-based practice, manage budgets, and partner with physicians and other departments to develop new services and improve patient satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing required or BSN with MSN.
• Typically requires 5 years of nursing experience including 1 year of supervisory experience.
• Must be licensed RN in the state.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and manages resources to provide optimal nursing care, including staffing and supplies.
• Maintains productivity with 24-hour staffing and scheduling.
• Evaluates quality of patient care using standards, outcomes and indicators.
• Develops service strategies and monitors service levels for patient satisfaction.
• Promotes relationships with patients, families, staff, and other departments.
• Facilitates evidence-based nursing and alignment with goals.
• Participates in shared governance and implements changes in practice.
• Ensures compliance with Joint Commission and regulatory bodies.
• Develops change initiatives and manages care management targets.
• Assists in development of new services and marketing of programs.
• Manages HR tasks including hiring, promotions, performance reviews, and morale.
• Develops operating and capital budgets and controls expenditures.
• Adheres to Aurora Health Care Code of Ethical Conduct and policies.
