Qualifications

• Degree from accredited nursing program.
• Current Texas RN License.
• BLS certification.
• ACLS or completion within 60 days of hire date.
• 2 years’ experience.
• Must possess organizational skills to function in a fast paced OR environment.
• Experience in phase II level of care.
• Certification in CMSRN preferred.
• Completion of De-escalation training within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs assessment/data collection focusing on physiologic, psychological and cognitive status.
• Formulates a goal directed plan of care based on nursing diagnosis and patient outcomes.
• Implements care in a skilled manner to reach patient outcomes.
• Establish priorities of patient care based on needs and resources.
• Performs in emergency situations following protocols and documents events.
• Demonstrates knowledge in medical/surgical patient care and pharmacology basics.
• Uses sound problem-solving and decision-making.
• Documents on floor and in patient record timely and concisely.
• Works as part of a team delivering patient care.
• Maintains BLS and ACLS as required.
• Attends mandatory in-services and staff meetings.
• Remains flexible and open to new ideas and approaches.
• Treats all patients with respect per Patient Rights policy.
• Follows physician orders professionally and promptly.
• Willing to assist with other duties when asked.
