Job summary

Three Rivers Behavioral Health in West Columbia, SC seeks a Mental Health Technician (MHT) to support the clinical team and ensure the patient program schedule is followed. The role involves assisting nurses in psychiatric and physical treatment and maintaining therapeutic boundaries throughout the treatment day.

The MHT works across units as needed, including dual diagnosis and crisis stabilization, to help adolescents and adults progress through inpatient care.

Qualifications

• Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology or related field preferred.
• Two years of experience in healthcare or behavioral health field.

Responsibilities

• Assists with maintaining a safe, hazard-free environment by observing patient behavior and reporting unsafe conditions.
• Uses patient activity schedule and unit rules to maintain milieu consistency.
• Records progress notes on incidents and conditions (suicidal thoughts/actions, AWOLs, aggression, sleep patterns).
