Job summary

The Mental Health Technician (MHT) at Three Rivers Behavioral Health works closely with the clinical treatment team to ensure the patient program schedule is carried out as planned and that patients remain engaged in activities throughout the treatment day.

They support nurses in psychiatric and physical care, maintain therapeutic boundaries, and may float to other units to meet patient care needs across adult, senior, and adolescent programs.

Qualifications

• Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology or related field preferred.
• Two (2) years of experience in healthcare or behavioral health related field in lieu of Associates or Bachelor’s degree.

Responsibilities

• The Mental Health Technician (MHT) works closely with the clinical treatment team to ensure the patient program schedule is carried out as planned.
• Interacts with patients in a therapeutic manner and assists staff to maintain appropriate boundaries.
• Float to other units as needed to support dual diagnosis, acute inpatient, senior and adolescent programs.
