Job summary

The Mental Health Technician (MHT) works closely with all members of the clinical treatment team in the Inpatient Acute Unit for senior adults. This position will float to other units as needed, including dual diagnosis, acute inpatient adult, adolescent, and crisis programs, within Universal Health Services' facility in West Columbia, SC.

As a Mental Health Technician, you will assist nurses with psychiatric and physical treatment, help maintain patient program schedules, interact with patients

Qualifications

• Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Psychology or related field preferred.
• Two (2) years of experience in healthcare or behavioral health related field in lieu of Associates or Bachelor’s degree.
• Ability to work with patients in a clinical environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with clinical treatment and patient care under supervision.
• Support nurses and ensure patient program schedule is followed.
• Engage with patients in a therapeutic manner while maintaining boundaries.
