Job summary

Three Rivers Behavioral Health, LLC in West Columbia, SC seeks a Mental Health Technician to support the acute inpatient program and float to other units as needed, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure daily activities run smoothly.

The role emphasizes safety, therapeutic interaction with patients, and adherence to treatment plans within a hospital setting; a degree in psychology or related field is preferred and growth within the UHS system is offered.

Qualifications

• Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology or related field preferred.
• Two (2) years of healthcare or behavioral health experience may substitute for the degree.

Responsibilities

• Assist with maintaining a safe and hazard-free environment by observing and documenting patient behavior, conducting room searches, and reporting unsafe conditions.
• Utilize patient activity schedules, unit rules, and group structure to maintain milieu consistency.
• Record progress notes reflecting patient behavior related to incidents and conditions (e.g., suicidal thoughts, AWOLs, aggression, special checks, restrictions, sleep patterns).
