Job summary

DaMar Staffing is seeking an experienced Regional Hospital Inpatient Coder to assign accurate codes for inpatient and newborn records. The role requires on-site work for up to one year and involves querying physicians for documentation, ensuring proper sequencing for MS-DRG/APC assignments, and strict adherence to coding guidelines.

The ideal candidate holds a Certified Coding Specialist credential and has at least six years of hospital coding experience, with strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM/PCS

Qualifications

• Minimum six consecutive years of hospital coding experience.
• Certified Coding Specialist credential.
• Ability to query physicians for documentation to support accurate coding.
• On-site work required for up to one year.
• Proficiency with ICD-10-CM/ICD-10-PCS and HCPCS/CPT coding systems.
• Must meet 80%+ on the KPSC Inpatient Coding Skills Assessment.

Responsibilities

• Identify and assign accurate diagnoses and procedures for inpatient and newborn records.
• Sequence codes for MS-DRG, APR-DRG and APC assignments with accuracy.
• Abstract data into systems ensuring data integrity and compliance with regulations.
• Communicate with physicians to obtain necessary documentation for coding.
