Job summary

DaMar Staffing is seeking an Inpatient Coder to accurately code and abstract inpatient cases using ICD-CM, ICD-PCS, CPT and HCPCS. Under supervision, you will review medical records, interact with physicians, and ensure compliant, timely coding.

The role requires three years of continuous hospital coding experience and relevant credentials. Applicants must have a High School Diploma or GED with coursework in medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and coding conventions.

Qualifications

• Three years of continuous hospital coding experience within the last five years.

Responsibilities

• Code and Abstract: Review medical records to identify diagnoses/procedures to be coded.
• Organize and prioritize work to ensure timely, compliant coding.
• Code diagnoses/procedures using ICD-CM, ICD-PCS, CPT and HCPCS.
• Determine DRG relevance and resolve discrepancies.
• Abstract data for submission and reporting; ensure data integrity.
