Job summary

Munson Healthcare is seeking an experienced inpatient coder to analyze medical records and assign ICD-10-CM/ICD-10-PCS and CPT-4 codes according to national guidelines and AHIMA ethics. The role requires RHIT/RHIA or CCS certification and 2+ years of inpatient coding experience, with ability to meet productivity and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Two years of inpatient coding experience required.
• Ability to meet productivity and quality standards.
• Certification as RHIT, RHIA or CCS required.
• Experience with ICD-10-CM/ICD-10-PCS and CPT-4 coding.

Responsibilities

• Analyze medical records to determine items to be coded and abstracted.
• Assign ICD10-CM diagnoses, ICD10-PCS procedures, and CPT-4 codes per guidelines.
• Abstract and edit data, assign charges for ER levels, infusions and procedures.
• Communicate with physicians and CDI specialists for clarification.
• Maintain organized coding reference materials and participate in ongoing education.
