Job summary

Munson Healthcare seeks a Sr. Coder Abstractor - Inpatient to accurately code and abstract inpatient records, ensuring compliant, timely billing. This full-time day shift role requires strong coding expertise and collaboration with CDI and physicians.

You will assign ICD10-CM diagnosis, ICD10-PCS procedure, and CPT-4 codes, abstract and edit data per guidelines, and maintain organized reference materials. A $4,500 sign-on bonus is offered with full benefits.

Qualifications

• Two years inpatient coding experience required.
• Experience with ICD10-CM/ICD10-PCS and CPT-4 coding.
• RHIT/RHIA or CCS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes medical records to determine items to code and abstract.
• Assigns ICD10-CM diagnosis, ICD10-PCS procedure, and CPT-4 codes.
• Abstracts and edits data per guidelines; assigns charges per department guidelines.
• Communicates with physicians/CDI to ensure accurate coding and reimbursement.
• Maintains organized coding reference materials and participates in ongoing education.
