Job summary

Medasource is seeking an experienced Inpatient Medical Coder for a fully remote 6-month contract. The role supports a high-acuity, multi-specialty environment and is ideal for coders with strong experience handling complex inpatient cases.

Requirements include CCS certification preferred (RHIT or RHIA considered), 3+ years inpatient coding, proficiency with Epic EHR, and 3M encoder. Prior academic medical center or trauma facility experience is a plus. Remote PST hours with potential extension.

Responsibilities

• Meet productivity and quality expectations.

Summary

Medasource is partnering with a leading regional health system to hire experienced Inpatient Medical Coders for a fully remote contract opportunity. This role supports a high-acuity, multi-specialty environment and is ideal for coders with strong experience handling complex inpatient cases.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform accurate inpatient coding across a wide range of specialties, including: Cardiology, Neurology, Surgical cases, Transplants, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), Additional complex inpatient cases
• Assign appropriate diagnosis and procedure codes in accordance with organizational, regulatory, and industry standards
• Maintain timely and accurate coding in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
• Consistently meet established productivity and quality expectations

Qualifications

• Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) certification preferred; RHIT or RHIA credentials will also be considered
• Minimum of three years of inpatient coding experience
• Strong multi-specialty inpatient coding background
• Experience working within an academic medical center or trauma facility preferred
• Proficiency with Epic EHR
• Experience using the 3M encoder
