Job summary

Medasource is partnering with a leading regional health system to hire experienced Inpatient Medical Coders for a fully remote contract opportunity. This role supports a high-acuity, multi-specialty environment and is ideal for coders with strong experience handling complex inpatient cases.

Responsibilities include accurate inpatient coding across cardiology, neurology, surgical cases, transplants, NICU; ensuring timely and compliant coding while maintaining productivity and quality.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years inpatient coding experience.
• Experience with high-acuity multi-specialty environments.
• Strong knowledge of coding guidelines and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Assign accurate ICD-10-CM/PCS codes per standards.

Position: Inpatient Coder

Client: Healthcare Provider

Location: 100% Remote (PST Hours)

Contract Length: 6-months, with potential for extension

Summary

Medasource is partnering with a leading regional health system to hire experienced Inpatient Medical Coders for a fully remote contract opportunity. This role supports a high-acuity, multi-specialty environment and is ideal for coders with strong experience handling complex inpatient cases.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform accurate inpatient coding across a wide range of specialties, including: Cardiology, Neurology, Surgical cases, Transplants, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), Additional complex inpatient cases
• Assign appropriate diagnosis and procedure codes in accordance with organizational, regulatory, and industry standards
• Maintain timely and accurate coding in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
• Consistently meet established productivity and quality expectations

Qualifications

• Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) certification preferred; RHIT or RHIA credentials will also be considered
• Minimum of three years of inpatient coding experience
• Strong multi-specialty inpatient coding background
• Experience working within an academic medical center or trauma facility preferred
• Proficiency with Epic EHR
• Experience using the 3M encoder
