Job summary

Medasource is seeking an experienced Inpatient Coder for a fully remote contract opportunity. The role supports a high-acuity, multi-specialty environment and requires strong inpatient coding expertise in complex cases.

Remote work with PST hours; 6-month contract with potential extension. Start date ASAP; Epic EHR and 3M encoder experience highly valued.

Qualifications

• CCS certification preferred; RHIT or RHIA credentials will also be considered.
• Minimum of three years of inpatient coding experience
• Strong multi-specialty inpatient coding background
• Experience working within an academic medical center or trauma facility preferred
• Proficiency with Epic EHR
• Experience using the 3M encoder

Responsibilities

• Perform inpatient coding across specialties including Cardiology, Neurology, Surgical, Transplants, NICU, and other complex inpatient cases.
• Assign diagnosis and procedure codes in accordance with organizational, regulatory, and industry standards.
• Maintain timely and accurate coding in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
• Consistently meet established productivity and quality expectations

Key Responsibilities

• Perform accurate inpatient coding across a wide range of specialties, including: Cardiology, Neurology, Surgical cases, Transplants, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), Additional complex inpatient cases
• Assign appropriate diagnosis and procedure codes in accordance with organizational, regulatory, and industry standards
• Maintain timely and accurate coding in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
• Consistently meet established productivity and quality expectations

• Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) certification preferred; RHIT or RHIA credentials will also be considered
