Job summary

Cardinal Health manages the pharmacy at AMG Specialty Hospital - Houston Med Center and we are currently recruiting for a FT Pharmacist to work as needed for both weekend and weekday coverage. Hours of the facility at Monday-Friday 8AM-4:30PM and weekends 8AM-2:30PM.

On call coverage to be expected as well. Working as Pharmacist II, you verify physician orders, adjust dosages per protocols, supervise Pharmacy Technicians, and educate patients.

Qualifications

• Licensed pharmacist in Texas with good standing.
• IV certification required.
• In-patient hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
• Flexible shifts and clear communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Verifies physician orders in the pharmacy information system and adjusts dosages per protocols.
• Supervises Pharmacy Technicians to ensure compliant and efficient operations.
• Adjusts dosages based on protocols and contributes to antimicrobial stewardship.
• Educates patients on proper medication use, especially at discharge.
• Manages narcotics and inventory control with regular documentation.
• Liaises with nurses and physicians to verify orders and obtain information.
• Supports Pharmacy Director in accreditation and implementing process changes.
