Job summary

ChristianaCare is seeking a full-time Inpatient Coding Coordinator IV to ensure timely and accurate inpatient coding for reimbursement and data collection. The role coordinates daily coding operations and support staff.

Responsibilities include prebill review, DRG capture, data analysis for documentation gaps, and education of physicians and coders on coding standards. Collaboration with providers ensures accuracy and compliance.

Qualifications

• RHIA, RHIT or CCS certification or equivalent certification/degree.
• College credits in medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
• Three years coding experience in a Health Information Management department.
• Experience with implementing and maintaining computer systems.

Responsibilities

• Timely prebill review and audit inpatient medical records and correctly capture final DRG.
• Analyze clinical data of inpatients and identify documentation gaps.
• Analyze and report trends for improvement opportunities in coding and documentation.
• Verify coding and abstracting accuracy through reviews.

Education

RHIA, RHIT or CCS certification or equivalent certification/degree

College credits in medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
