Job summary

CHRISTUS Health Coding Leadership seeks a Coding Lead to mentor and guide inpatient/outpatient coding teams. The role focuses on maintaining high-quality ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, and CPT coding through chart review and documentation analysis.

The Lead will collaborate with HIM and Clinical Documentation Improvement, review audit results, and drive denials reduction while ensuring accurate coding across EHR systems.

Qualifications

• 5 years of inpatient/outpatient coding experience in acute care.
• RHIA/RHIT/CCS/CPC certifications preferred.
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT guidelines and Coding Clinics.

Responsibilities

• Lead coding team to 95%+ accuracy in coding and documentation.
• Review audit results and implement remediation actions.
• Collaborate with HIM and Clinical Documentation Improvement to ensure accurate physician documentation.
• Assist in reducing denials and improving billing accuracy.
• Mentor coders and provide coaching on coding workflows and best practices.
