Job summary

Lake Health District is seeking an In-Patient Medical Coder to join our hospital coding team. This full-time, 40-hour weekly position requires accurate ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT and HCPCS coding for inpatient records under a set Monday-Friday schedule.

Applicants must have a high school diploma with formal coding training, 5 years of ICD coding experience, and CPC/CCS/CIC certification. This role is non-exempt and unionized, with emphasis on precise data and collaboration with clinical staff.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent with formal advanced training in coding.
• CPC, CCS or CIC certification required.
• Five (5) years' experience in ICD-10CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT and HCPCS coding.
• Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party payer rules.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and hospital coding regulations.

Responsibilities

• Code inpatient medical records using ICD-10CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT and HCPCS.
• Ensure accurate, complete coding for quality data and compliance.
