Job summary

DaMar Staffing seeks an In-Patient Coder to handle medical coding and data entry for hospital inpatient visits, including CABG, Ortho, and Med cases. Proficiency with 3M 360 Encoder HDM is required to streamline coding and billing.

Roles include consistent accuracy, compliance with HIPAA and related regulations, and willingness to float between sites as needed. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 2 year degree or equivalent with AHIMA or AAPC certification required.
• Actively holds one or more of the following credentials: RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC, COC.
• Experience coding CABG, Ortho, and Med cases required.
• Experience working with 3M 360 Encoder HDM required.

Responsibilities

• Inpatient: Assign ICD-10-CM and PCS diagnoses and procedures and determine DRG according to guidelines.
• Create compliant physician queries.
• Review claims for medical necessity.
• Update problem lists per client contract.
• Assign present on admission indicators.
• Provide excellent customer service to clients and teammates.
• Floats between multiple sites and coding specialties.
