Job summary

DaMar Staffing seeks an In-patient Coder to handle medical coding and data entry for hospital inpatient visits, coding CABG, Orthopedic, and medical cases. The coder will use the 3M 360 Encoder HDM to streamline coding and billing.

Essential functions include assigning ICD-10-CM/PCS codes, reviewing claims for medical necessity, updating problem lists, and ensuring accurate DRG assignment. AHIMA/AAPC certification and CABG/Ortho/Med experience are required.

Qualifications

• AHIMA or AAPC certification is required.
• 2 year degree or equivalent experience.
• Experience coding CABG, Ortho, and Med cases is required.
• Experience with 3M 360 Encoder HDM is required.

Responsibilities

• Inpatient: assign ICD-10-CM and PCS codes based on documentation and guidelines.
• Create compliant physician queries.
• Review claims for medical necessity.
• Update problem lists consistent with client contract.
• Assign present on admission indicators.
• Provide excellent customer service to clients and teammates.
• Work across multiple sites and coding specialties.
