Job summary

DaMar Staffing seeks an In-Patient Coder to handle medical coding and data entry for Hospital in-patient visits, coding CABG (cardio), Ortho, and Med cases, using the 3M 360 Encoder HDM to streamline the process.

Essential duties include accurate ICD-10-CM/PCS coding, DRG assignment, creating physician queries, reviewing claims for medical necessity, and servicing multiple sites with strong communication and teamwork.

Qualifications

• A 2-year degree or equivalent experience is required.
• AHIMA or AAPC certification is required.
• Experience coding CABG, Ortho, and Med cases is required.
• Experience with 3M 360 Encoder HDM is required.

Responsibilities

• Inpatient: assign ICD-10-CM and PCS codes accurately based on documentation.
• Review claims for medical necessity.
• Update problem lists per client contract.
• Assign present on admission indicators.
• Provide excellent customer service to clients and teammates.
• Float between multiple sites and coding specialties.
