Job summary

UVA Health is seeking the central clinical pharmacist in a Level I Trauma Center for daytime coverage. The role is an inpatient Acute Care Clinical Pharmacist with independence and multidisciplinary support, including rapid response to codes and bedside emergencies.

The incumbent will verify medications in Epic, provide real-time consultations, and balance priorities across high-acuity cases with strong clinical autonomy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Pharmacy or Pharm.D. from an ACPE-accredited college of pharmacy.
• No experience required; PGY-1 residency or equivalent clinical experience preferred.
• Virginia State Board of Pharmacy license or eligibility within 60 days of hire; AHA Health Care Provider BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Lead hospital-wide medication order verification in Epic, ensuring accuracy and safety across inpatient units.
• Respond to codes and emergency situations at the bedside, delivering immediate pharmacotherapeutic expertise.
• Provide real-time clinical consultation to nursing staff and providers across a wide range of specialties.
• Function as the primary clinical pharmacist, managing competing priorities and high-acuity cases.
