UC Davis Health is seeking a Staff 2 Clinical Pharmacist focused on inpatient care across transplant, infectious disease, critical care, cardiology, oncology and pediatrics. You will direct drug therapy, monitor regimens, and participate in rounds with medical teams while also precepting students and residents.

The role emphasizes drug information, research participation, and involvement in department committees to support quality and cost-effective pharmaceutical care across the health system.

Qualifications

• California Pharmacist License eligible and possess a valid license at time of hire.
• AHA or Red Cross BLS, or UC Davis Health CPR.
• Doctor of Pharmacy Degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent training.
• PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency, or three years of related clinical experience.
• Understanding and competency with aseptic technique and safe handling of hazardous meds.
• Computer skills for data entry and clinical software programs.
• Ability to educate patients about medication therapy.
• Clear communication to diverse audiences, including non-English speakers.
• Knowledge of ambulatory care guidelines (NCEP, JNC, ADA).
• Ability to identify med-related problems and propose physician recommendations.
• Knowledge of practices related to patient care in area of expertise.
• Decision-making to exercise delegated authority and know when to seek help.

Responsabilités

• Direct and maintain drug therapy across the continuum of care.
• Provide comprehensive service-based monitoring on select services.
• Round with medical teams and offer recommendations for regimens.
• Serve as a preceptor to pharmacy students and residents.
• Contribute drug information and participate in research.
• Support drug distribution activities and cost-effective pharmaceutical care.
